Danielle Harrison

My name is Danielle Harrison and I am the current President of the SVO Board. I have lived in Michigan for 10 years, I have 5 boys, 4 of which have been or are going to Schuchard. My oldest is at U of M in his senior year, Zac is in 6th, Wilis in 5th, Connor is in 1st and Tyler is in pre-school at Burr. I hope to help the parents become more involved in the school and to help our school and the SVO become as "Green" as possible. In order to do this I will need the help of every parent, student and teacher. Please help me, the board and our school. Kendra LaPrise

Hello! My name is Kendra LaPrise and I am currently serving my second year as Vice President on the SVO Board. Last year was my first time ever being on a parent organization and I learned a lot!! I hope to have an even better year this year! My goal for the 2011-2012 school year is to have a real sense of community. I hope for us to develop really great relationships between the teachers, students, and their families; not just during school hours, but for after school activities as well. My husband and I are full time working parents who have three children at Schuchard Elementary. If we are not at work, we are either at an activity for one of the kids or we are doing something for Schuchard! My husband Wayne LaPrise is the developer of the Schuchard Website and the SVO Website and maintains both of them. I look forward to another awesome school year!!

Tara Tollis

Hi My name is Tara Tollis, I have one child at Schuchard (Ben -8) he is in 3rd grade. I find it really important to take an active part in your child's school life and while doing so I saw the incredible need for volunteers at the school, I am happy to help wherever and whenever I can. I have chaired events in the past but,this will be my first year as Vice President, my goal this year is to raise money for new media equipment and try to recruit more parents to help out at the school or at home.

Melanie Barash

I have 3 boys at Schuchard - Connor is in 6th grade, Evan is in 4th grade and Graham is in 1st grade. This is our 3rd year at Schuchard. I have previously been a volunteer treasurer for a school PTA, my church youth group and a food co-op. I do a lot of volunteering at Schuchard including: co-leading the Chess Club, teaching beginners chess, coaching Science Olympiad, volunteering in my sons’ classrooms & the school library and chairing a few SVO activities. This coming year, I hope to start and co-lead a Math Olympiad team. I’m also planning on helping with challenge math. Outside of school, I coach soccer and lead the elementary school music program at our church. I’m looking forward to another great year at Schuchard - and to helping the SVO provide many fun and educational activities and supplies for our students.

Corry Olszewski

My name is Corry Olszewski. My husband Matt & I are parents to Dean (7) and Hannah (5). Dean will be in 2nd grade this year and this will be Hannah’s 1st year at Schuchard & will be in Kindergarten. I graduated from Michigan State University and currently am the Chief Financial Officer at a Metro Detroit area Tool & Die Shop, where I have worked for the past 16 years. I have lived in Michigan my entire life and grew up in a small town in Northern Michigan, where my high school graduating class had a total of 40 students.

Lynne Hamameh

My name is Lynne Hamameh and I am currently serving on the SVO board as co-secretary. I have three children, all of whom attended Schuchard. I have been a parent volunteer at Schuchard for the last 16 years. Ever since my first child started preschool at Schuchard, I have managed to be involved as a volunteer in one way or another. Being a volunteer is easy and fun. There are many ways to get involved at Schuchard and you can do as little or as much as you want. Volunteering at Schuchard for the last 16 years has made an awesome difference in my life as a parent and as an individual. I have met numerous people and made many new friends, not to mention all the great things I was able to participate in with my children. Volunteering allows me to stay connected with what my child is doing in school and I encourage every parent and caregiver to get involved. Come and join us at an SVO meeting and make a difference in the life of your child and yourself!

Gail Novak

Hello Everybody!! My name is Gail Novak and as you know I am one of the secretary's on the SVO Board this year. My husband and I have been Schuchard parents for 5 years now. From preschool till now.( My son Randall is starting the 3rd grade this year.) We both work full time, me at Milton Manufacturing and Rick has his own business Novak's Fireplace Service. You may have heard of it. We have always supported SVO events. The reason I decided to be on the board this year is I wanted to try to find more ways to raise money for our school without tapping out our parents. I also wanted to get parents and teachers more involved in SVO meetings and events. I think it would be great if our school became a community where everyone was involved and knew each other. I hope to see you at some meetings and or events.
