Dear Schuchard Families,
I would like to request your support for an event that will benefit the young people in the Utica Community Schools District (UCS). As Schools face challenging times with funding issues in the state, the continuation of Junior High Sports within UCS is in jeopardy.
A group of dedicated parents, teacher, administrators and students has taken on the challenge of preserving sports for our seven junior high schools. These sporting programs benefit our students at all levels. In addition to the impact to junior high age students, we are working to preserve future sports opportunities for current elementary age students and maintain a program to feed and maintain superior sports rankings at the high school level.
A 5K run/walk and family fun event is scheduled for June 10, 2012 at Delia Park in Sterling Heights. Proceeds from this event will directly benefit the UCS junior high sports programs. The families of the 29,000 students and 1,300 teachers across 45 schools in UCS will be invited to this event along with the public. Utica Community Schools is the second largest school district in Michigan and encompasses 66 square miles including Shelby Township, parts of Macomb Township and Washington Township, the city of Utica and part of Sterling Heights.
We would like to provide your business with the opportunity to gain exposure and show your support for the children in the community where you do business. Several sponsorship opportunities are available.
Please review the enclosed information regarding sponsorship opportunities. Additional information regarding this event is available at www.uticasos5k.com.
Questions can be directed to us through email at sos5kevent@gmail.com or you can contact me directly.

We truly appreciate your support!
